Hunter x hunter kite saves gone8/14/2023 ![]() One can argue that Kite had purposefully used himself as shield to protect Gon and Killua from any attack by the enemy therefore, losing his arm in the process. ![]() In all of his experiences involving Kite, he had either been foolish, oblivious, powerless or ignorant, and Kite had always been there to protect and save him. During the incident with the foxbear, Gon had been utterly defenceless and innocent, and in his reunion with Kite he had had no cognition of the danger a chimera ant posed, and when Gon had been distracted from killing a chimera ant soldier for his lack of experience with such an enemy, and when Neferpitou assaulted them, Gon had been utterly defenceless as he had been the first time he had met Kite. What these events had all in common, besides from the fact that Kite had saved Gon in all of them, was Gon displaying his weaknesses and his obliviousness to them. Then finally, Kite saved him and Killua from Neferpitou. And during one of their battles against the chimera ant soldiers, Kite saved him from the enemy he thought was dead. Then in their reunion, Kite saved him yet again from the chimera ants (anime). Furthermore, it had also been Kite who encouraged Gon to become a hunter, for Kite had truly believed in Gon’s abilities (manga). This alone was enough to feel infinitely indebted to someone. The first incident took place on Whale Island, when, if it had not been for Kite, Gon would not have been alive today. He saved Gon more than once, and in all of them when Gon had almost been completely helpless or clueless or both. ![]() It escapes me, how there are people who have kept and keep overlooking the extremely significant role Kite played in Gon’s life. The story of how Togashi is partly to blame for Gon's problematic character development in the remake of his own manga. Voice actors had already been booked, characters already designed, and storyboards already being written.Īnd there you have it. They couldn't just put him into the second or third episode either as it was likely that their whole model up to the end of the Hunter Exam was already set in stone. They were probably happy now, knowing they could animate the Chimera Ant arc, but they were probably also upset given that they now realized it was a mistake to not have Kite in the first episode. This was both a blessing and a curse for Madhouse. He finished the Chimera Ant arc 4 whole days before the airing of the first episode of the 2011 version. As Kite only shows up again during the Chimera Ant arc, Madhouse wasn't sure whether it was worth it to include him in the first episode as they likely weren't aware whether they'd ever get to animate the Chimera Ant arc.įast forward a few months to the very week that the first episode of Hunter x Hunter 2011 is scheduled to air and Togashi has some great news for the good people at Madhouse. You see when Madhouse first announced that they were remaking Hunter x Hunter, Togashi had not yet finished the Chimera Ant arc.
